HOW DO I BECOME A UNISYN MEMBER?
The first step is to get your email on our email list and/or to like our Facebook page, so you can be informed of upcoming workshops. As we operate on an a la carte basis, being a UniSYN member doesn’t mean that you have to attend every workshop, and doesn’t mean that we have regular meetings outside of workshop times.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING A UNISYN MEMBER?
Being a member means that you will be the first to be informed of any and all upcoming events. However, don't feel obligated to attend every workshop - drop in as you please!
IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP FEE/A FEE FOR ATTENDING WORKSHOPS?
There will be a low cost, but we want to make these workshops as accessible as possible. If you feel like you are unable to pay, please contact us.
WHO WILL BE TEACHING ME LAB SKILLS?
Our talented team of trainers will be the ones running the workshops! All of them will have undergone the proper training necessary, and many of them have years of experience in the field.
DO I NEED PRIOR LAB EXPERIENCE BEFORE ATTENDING A WORKSHOP?
No prior lab experience is necessary! Our workshops are open to everyone, no matter their experience within a wet lab setting.

WHO WILL BE TEACHING ME LAB SKILLS?
Our talented team of trainers consists of undergraduates, master’s students, and lab technicians. All of them have undergone the necessary training and many of them have years of experience in the field!
DO I NEED PRIOR LAB EXPERIENCE BEFORE ATTENDING A WORKSHOP?
No prior lab experience is necessary! Our workshops are open to everyone, no matter their experience within a wet lab setting.
DO I NEED PRIOR SAFETY TRAINING BEFORE ATTENDING A WORKSHOP?
Safety training is not mandatory, but we recommend that all members undergo safety training before workshops. Keep in mind that members who do safety training no longer have to take safety training for their courses in second year (Anatomy). If participants choose to forego safety training, a waiver will have to be signed before the workshop starts. Any university-mandated training will be outlined for the students prior to a workshop.
